General Manager – Cork

About the Role
My client is seeking a highly capable General Manager to take full responsibility for their flagship Cork entertainment venue. This is a key leadership position overseeing all operational, financial, and people-related aspects of the site. The successful candidate will drive profitability, ensure exceptional customer service, and lead a committed team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the General Manager will assume complete P&L accountability and guide a team of supervisors and front-line staff to consistently achieve ambitious targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & People Development: Lead, motivate, and develop the on-site team, fostering a culture of strong performance, accountability, and outstanding customer service.
2. Financial Control: Oversee the full P&L for the venue, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and revenue growth initiatives.
3. Operational Management: Maintain the highest standards of operational excellence, regulatory compliance, safety, and customer service throughout the venue.
4. Customer Experience: Act as the primary on-site ambassador for the brand, ensuring all customers enjoy a safe, welcoming, and engaging experience while managing escalated issues professionally.
5. Performance Oversight: Set clear KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and provide hands-on coaching to drive team performance and operational results.
6. Local Marketing: Support and execute local marketing activities and promotions designed to increase footfall and strengthen loyalty within the Cork community.
7. Reporting: Provide clear, consistent updates on venue performance, challenges, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
Candidate Profile
8. 3–5+ years' management experience in high-volume retail, hospitality, leisure, or a comparable customer-facing sector.
9. Demonstrated experience managing full P&L responsibilities, with strong budgeting and cost-control skills.
10. A proven ability to hire, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
11. Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
12. A genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.
13. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
14. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
