Hotel Accountant – 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide
Now under the management of FBD Hotels and Resorts, we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team.
Are you an experienced Accountant looking for your next opportunity in the hospitality industry? We have the perfect role for you.
As a Hotel Accountant, you'll support the daily operations of our finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and full compliance with internal controls and external regulations. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll take charge of accounts payable and receivable, assist with audits, prepare financial statements, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
The candidates must have previous experience as receptionist in a hotel environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Accounts Payable ensuring timely and accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and hotel policies.
- Manage daily cash flow and banking transactions.
- Support payroll processing and reconciliation in coordination with HR/payroll provider.
- Prepare tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, etc.) in accordance with local regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Financial Controller.
- Liaise with department heads to ensure accurate expense tracking and budget adherence.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for accounting processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including proficiency in MS Office/Excel.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
