Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant / Accounts Technician to join our Finance Department.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in the role and a strong ability to adapt to evolving requirements.

The successful candidate will be capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
As trainee Accountant / Accounts Technician you will gain hands on, practical experience within our Finance Team.
This position offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a professional work environment while learning about all financial aspects of the business and producing Company Accounts while also completing a professional qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Contribute to the preparation of management accounts, financial statements etc., across business units and the wider organisation.
Financial Systems
: Use our Accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics ERP) and other financial tools to streamline workflows, maintain accurate records and improve the reporting efficiency.
Financial Analysis
: Assist in the analysis of financial data including contract performance, profitability tracking, cost monitoring, and margin analysis to support strategic decision-making.
General Ledger Oversight:
Contribute to the accurate and timely maintenance of the general ledger through the recording and reconciliation of financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
Bank Reconciliation
: Assist in the reconciliation of company bank accounts, identifying and investigating any discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
: Support the efficient processing and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and queries resolved promptly.
Budgeting and Forecasting
: Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing data and insights to assist in strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Expense Monitoring
: Assist in the review and analysis of company expenditures to ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to budgetary targets.
Audit Preparation
: Support both internal and external audit processes by collating and providing relevant documentation, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit enquiries.
Communication:
Work with cross-functional teams, providing financial information and insights as required
Key Competencies And Qualifications
3rd level qualification in Accounting/Finance is desirable.
Ability and Eagerness to learn and grow their professional capacity through furthering their professional qualifications.
Good understanding of the principles and practices of Accounting.
Experience in using accounting software.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment both as part of a team and on their own initiative.
Commercial awareness and problem solving abilities are beneficial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with colleagues, suppliers, customers, etc.
