The community liaison officer shall be responsible for supporting the project stakeholder management and communications functions throughout the project lifecycle. The role holder shall oversee the day-to-day delivery of the strategic stakeholder engagement strategy, including processes, procedures, controls, systems, and reporting, ensuring the strategy remains fit for purpose as the project progresses.
You'll be responsible for:
* Managing project stakeholders (both internal and external) efficiently and in a coordinated manner.
* Collaborating with the stakeholder lead and stakeholder manager to support and manage the stakeholder engagement strategy.
* Providing updates on community engagement to relevant internal project teams and coordinating with delivery contractors to ensure stakeholder liaison and commitments are monitored and managed.
* Identifying, assessing, and communicating risks related to public-facing engagement to the project team.
* Serving as the main point of contact for community stakeholders at specific locations, providing briefings, promoting the project, and resolving issues.
* Organizing and attending meetings and forums as outlined in the engagement strategy.
You'll need to have:
* At least 5 years' experience in stakeholder and communications management, preferably in high-value rail projects or similar complex projects.
* Proven track record in managing stakeholder communications activities in a public-facing environment.
* Experience in driving best practices in technical activities, processes, policies, and standards.
* Deep understanding of design and delivery requirements in the architectural, engineering, or construction sectors.
* Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, influencing processes and supporting project delivery.
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices, ideally within construction.
You'll also have:
* Ability to manage technical outputs to enhance efficiency.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Capability to govern and achieve high-quality outcomes.
* A BA/BSc in public relations, business, or a related field.
