Pensions Administrator Job Description
Unijobs DAC is recruiting for a temporary, full-time Administrator to support the Pensions Office within the University of Limerick.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to the Pensions Section in the Human Resources Division, interacting with internal and external customers. They will work in a busy, confidential, and collaborative environment, requiring strong organisation, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Main Responsibilities
* Ensure effective administration of the University's Pension Schemes in accordance with University Statutes, legislative requirements, Pensions Authority, and Government guidelines.
* Manage the administration of the Pension Schemes with a membership of approximately 1,700 staff and 520 retired members of staff, including communications, annual benefit statements, costing calculations, transfer options, and up-to-date documentation.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding pensions activities, including other institutions for transfers of pensionable service.
* Organise information seminars on scheduled basis, booking rooms, arranging speakers, and maintaining attendance logs.
* Administer and promote associate benefits schemes (AVC, Additional Life Cover, and Income Continuance Plan) to staff, including timely communications, addressing member queries, processing member applications, and monthly reporting.
* Manage relationships with administrators/trustees of all pension schemes and other external service providers.
* Maintain and monitor information systems for efficient administration of pension schemes and other benefits, providing management information, including Pensions testing for upgrades and ad-hoc updates.
Requirements
* Demonstrable high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Working knowledge of computerised information packages (e.g., Core Modules, Docuware, Sharepoint, BI reports).
* Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and high levels of self-motivation.
* High level of analytical and numerical skills.
* Flexible approach to work.
* Experience in a wide variety of office applications.
* Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a direct customer service role, preferably in a Higher Education setting.
