About the Role Currently seeking a qualified Medical Scientist (Basic Grade) to join a Histology team. This is a permanent opportunity to play a vital role in delivering high-quality laboratory services that directly support patient care and clinical outcomes. As a key member of the laboratory staff, you'll be engaged in performing and supporting diagnostic tests and ensuring the smooth operation of the Histology department. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the efficient and accurate processing of Histology tests and specimens in line with departmental protocols and accreditation standards (INAB/JCI). Support and maintain laboratory documentation, including policies, procedures, and quality standards. Prioritise workloads effectively during high-volume periods and assist with concurrent testing tasks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to introduce new technologies and ideas. Assist in managing laboratory supplies and investigating non-conformances and equipment issues. Engage in ongoing quality assurance efforts, including participation in internal and external audits. Support training and mentorship of junior staff and promote a positive, team-oriented environment. Maintain high standards of Health & Safety in line with current legislation and hospital procedures. Participate in relevant research activities and contribute to process improvement and service development. Requirements Must hold or be eligible for membership with the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM)/CORU or equivalent regulatory body. Minimum of 1-year post-training laboratory experience. Demonstrated experience in Histology is required. Why this Job?
