Senior Process Engineer Role
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design works and ensuring the successful execution of water and wastewater treatment projects across Ireland and the UK.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Design Manager to deliver Coffey design works that meet the needs of public and private sector clients.
• Assist the Tendering Department in producing tender submissions that showcase our expertise and meet project requirements.
• Develop and produce process design deliverables for various tenders and project stages, including preliminary to detailed design issue for construction. Deliverables include process selection, process design calculations, P&ID and PFD development, mass balance, system description, and control philosophy.
• Work closely with the commercial/estimating team to develop CAPEX and OPEX models that support project feasibility studies and financial analysis.
• Conduct thorough reviews and develop value engineering measures to enhance Coffey tenders and make them more economically viable or robust.
• Visit municipal and private-sector sites as required to audit current water and wastewater treatment plants & processes, providing detailed assessment reports, recommendations for improvement, and preliminary CAPEX and OPEX costs.
• Develop Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSP) for municipal and private sector clients, incorporating health-based targets, system assessment, monitoring, reports, communication, surveillance, and adhering to World Health Organisation standards.
• Review and comment on proposed Coffey designs for water and wastewater treatment plants and installations with respect to future O&M considerations, participating in HAZOP's studies and workshops.
• Manage time effectively, executing work within defined timelines and budgetary constraints while maintaining a commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical process knowledge and support to the O&M Department, assisting with jar testing, on-site audits and inspections, and recommending process improvements.
• Support the Testing and Commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring seamless transitions from design to operational phases.
• Offer guidance and advice to the Commercial Department regarding O&M commercial and contractual matters.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working in project locations with regular travel to regional offices, project sites, and work-related events, promoting collaboration and effective communication throughout the organization.
• Mentor junior project engineers, scientists, technicians, and design personnel, fostering growth and development within the team.
About You
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in process design or equivalent is necessary.
• Proven track record in delivering technical designs including process, civil, mechanical, and electrical elements is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software is expected.
