BnM is hiring an Operational Technology (OT) Specialist. The purpose of the role is to keep BnM plant and renewable sites operating safely, reliably, and securely. To maintain and improve control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA), industrial networks, data historians, and the OT/IT boundary, ensuring high availability and cyber resilience across our portfolio.
Success in this role will be measured by timely issue resolution, accurately diagnosing root causes and avoidance or repeat issues, contributing to the overall success of the department and organisation.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
* Maintain OT systems: PLC/DCS/SCADA, HMIs, data historians, and site level servers; troubleshoot faults, perform root cause analysis, and execute risk-based patching and hardening to minimise downtime.
* Monitor L2/L3 switching and routing, VLANs, ACLs, and monitoring tools across OT networks; manage the Industrial DMZ (Level 3.5), jump servers, and secure vendor remote access.
* Implement segmentation, logging/monitoring on the OT side (SIEM collectors), backup/restore, and privileged access controls; enforce secure remote connectivity and vendor access standards consistent with IEC/ISA 62443.
* Administer OT accounts, RBAC, PAM, certificate/key lifecycle, uphold cryptography standards for data in transit/at rest across OT systems.
* Execute controlled changes, obsolescence planning, and configuration management; maintain evidence for audits and regulatory reporting; support safety and environmental compliance.
* Participate in incident handling (cyber and operational), disaster recovery exercises, and lessons learned; maintain runbooks and site documentation; contribute to continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
* Third level degree (min 2:2 classification) in a discipline with a high level of numerical or analytical content (Engineering, Finance, Science, Data Science). Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent are a distinct advantage. 5+ years IT/OT Industry experience.
* Excellent knowledge of networking protocols, security, and best practices. Working knowledge of OT data communications and protocols an advantage. Working knowledge of cloud environments and vendors.
* Candidate will have good knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards e.g. NIS2, IEC Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
