Our client is a well-regarded, professional services organisation who are seeking a Finance Professional to oversee and support a small team focused on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This is a hybrid role requiring a hands-on professional who can manage daily financial operations, contribute to month-end reporting processes, and drive continuous improvement in financial systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Supervise AP and AR operations to ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
* Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments.
* Maintain and enhance financial systems to support operational performance and reporting accuracy.
* Review ledger entries and ensure alignment with accounting policies and procedures.
* Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
* Assist in preparing management accounts for associated entities.
* Provide key support during external audits through the preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
* Monitor internal financial controls and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal standards.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and support interdepartmental coordination.
* Mentor and guide finance team members, supporting professional development and ensuring high performance.
* Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and workflows.
* Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements for senior leadership.
Key Requirements
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance environment.
* Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards.
* Previous experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
* Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SUN).
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
