We are looking for a smart, ambitious, driven Legal Counsel to support Dojo’s continued expansion across Europe. This is a broad, hands‑on role suited for someone curious, pragmatic, and happy to get involved across the business – from reviewing contracts and carrying out regulatory research to supporting market launches and improving existing processes. You will be a member of our Legal team, reporting directly to our Senior Legal Counsel in Dublin and working closely with the group Legal and Compliance team, and the wider business in London, Spain and Italy.
Responsibilities
Work with the Legal team and wider business on a broad range of commercial contract negotiations and issues across Europe.
Review and update commercial contracts, working closely with internal stakeholders.
Support ongoing due diligence of business partners and outsourcing and ICT arrangements.
Undertake legal research and analysis of existing and upcoming regulation in France and other European countries, particularly in the areas of financial regulation and AML.
Provide regulatory advice to European and UK stakeholders on European regulation.
Assist with localisation of European customer terms and conditions, including any specific requirements for European countries, in particular France.
Undertake research and analysis of legal issues raised by the business.
Support the Legal team with ad‑hoc projects arising from new products, regulatory change and market expansion.
Qualifications
European‑qualified lawyer (3‑5 PQE) with experience in commercial contracts, corporate and financial services work, ideally gained in private practice.
In‑house secondment experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
Interest in working within an e‑money and payments business, ideally with exposure to merchant acquiring or regulated services.
Strong interest in technology, innovation and building scalable solutions.
A collaborative, approachable mindset, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
An analytical approach, with the ability to understand complex legal issues and explain them clearly and practically to non‑lawyers.
A pragmatic, commercial and solutions‑focused attitude, with willingness to get involved and take ownership.
Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may shift and roles are not narrowly defined.
