The Glengarriff Park Hotel is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a friendly and professional environment, where high standards and teamwork are at the heart of what we do.
About the Role:
As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, supporting the chefs, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Head Chef to understand daily duties and schedules.
* Carry out regular cleaning of kitchen equipment, floors, walls, and surfaces as per cleaning schedules.
* Operate the dishwashing machine and other cleaning equipment in line with safety procedures.
* Ensure safe use and proper storage of cleaning chemicals, strictly following manufacturer guidelines.
* Clean and maintain work surfaces, shelving, grease filters, bins, and other kitchen areas to a high standard.
* Empty waste bins regularly and maintain cleanliness in refuse areas.
* Support the wider kitchen team by keeping the kitchen organized and hygienic at all times.
* Comply with all Health & Safety and hygiene regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A minimum of 1 year's experience in a food service or kitchen environment.
* A strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team.
* Good communication skills and attention to detail.
* A flexible approach and willingness to work various shifts, including weekends.
