About the Role
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will provide critical support to our client's operations in the South East of Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real impact on site safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective contractor safety programs, ensuring seamless collaboration with site teams.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to guarantee adherence to relevant safety regulations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
* Design and deliver comprehensive safety training sessions, promoting awareness and understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures among all stakeholders.
* Manage the site Permit to Work scheme, streamlining processes and minimizing risks.
* Collect and analyze relevant metrics and KPIs, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
* Lead or participate in thorough incident and accident investigations, applying root cause analysis techniques to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Requirements:
* A recognized L8 qualification in Science, Engineering, or EHS, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
* Circa 3 years of relevant experience in construction safety or a related sector, showcasing your knowledge and application of best practices.
* Demonstrated understanding of legal requirements and industry standards in Environment and Safety, with a strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex information.
* Bonus points if you hold IOSH Safety in Construction certification!
