Liability Claims Handler – Galway - Hybrid
As a Liability Claims Handler, you will be involved in handling Injury or Liability cases using agreed claims processes to ensure appropriate reserving, achieve fair settlements, and deliver business objectives.
While the role is based in Galway, due to current guidelines, there will be a requirement to work both from home and in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing a portfolio of cases to ensure each case is reserved appropriately in line with the company's case reserving methodology.
2. Proactively managing a portfolio of cases to achieve settlement within your designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures, and guidance.
3. Referring claims outside your authority limits to others promptly, following referral procedures.
4. Assessing claims against relevant criteria and experience to identify issues, involving others as needed to minimise leakage and protect business interests.
5. Managing customer interactions efficiently, courteously, and promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction.
6. Organising and utilising approved internal and external suppliers to drive proactive claim settlements.
7. Contributing to the development of less experienced colleagues to raise standards and expertise within the team.
8. Researching and identifying new product and proposition development opportunities related to claims.
9. Supporting Portfolio and Sales & Marketing teams by providing insights for policy wording improvements and client reviews.
10. Always working within your individual claims handling license.
11. Helping achieve departmental targets on Direct Settlements, Injuries Board acceptance rates, and Compliance Diagnostics.
12. Identifying and maximising opportunities for profitable business development through involvement in new pitches.
13. Maintaining a full understanding of relevant legislation and market developments.
14. Adhering to Claims Best Practice standards.
Requirements:
* CIP/ACII qualification preferred or other recognised qualifications.
* 2-3 years of experience in Injury & Liability Claims.
* Knowledge of the local market.
* Working always within your individual claims handling license.
* Customer service experience in the financial services industry.
* Excellent communication skills.
Regulatory Requirements:
* Hold or be progressing towards a recognised qualification aligned with the Minimum Competency Code (e.g., Grandfathered / APA / CIP / ACII).
* This role falls within the scope of the Minimum Competency Code and involves managing or supervising other in-scope roles.
