Due to continued growth, it is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Technician to join its electrical engineering team.
Job Overview
As an Electrical Design Technician, you will support the electrical design team by producing accurate electrical schematics and panel layouts for a wide range of industrial applications. You'll play a key role in developing and reviewing electrical systems that meet project, client, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for power distribution, control systems, and automation projects
* Produce accurate wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and control panel layouts
* Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection
* Ensure all designs meet project specifications and applicable IEC, BS, and EN standards
* Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors to clarify technical requirements
* Support procurement, manufacturing, and installation stages of projects
* Maintain quality control processes and ensure timely delivery of design documentation
Qualifications
* Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
* 5–10 years of electrical design and drafting experience in industrial environments
* Strong understanding of electrical standards and safety regulations
* Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings
* Experience with LV/ELV systems and automation integration (desirable)
* Knowledge of BIM/Revit MEP for electrical services (advantageous)
