Wills Bros is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer ready to step into an Assistant Quality Manager role on the West Apron Vehicle Underpass (WAVU) at Dublin Airport -a high profile infrastructure project delivered within a live operational environment.
This role is ideal for a quality professional with 6–8 years’ experience who is looking to take the next step into a more senior, project-influencing position, with increased responsibility for quality systems, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and company standards.
Take ownership of key elements of quality assurance and control across structural and civil works packages.
Develop and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality documentation in coordination with site teams.
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and quality reviews, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards.
Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), including investigation, root cause analysis, and close‑out of corrective actions.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure consistent quality standards are achieved across all works.
Support client and third‑party audits, always ensuring documentation and site readiness.
Assist in mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices in quality management on site.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date quality records, reports, and handover documentation.
Work collaboratively with construction, planning, and commercial teams to align quality with programme and delivery targets.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (essential).
6–8 years experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on quality assurance/control on infrastructure or structural projects.
Experience at Senior Engineer or Assistant Quality Manager level, with exposure to project‑wide quality processes.
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and Irish regulations, including ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Experience with ITPs, audits, inspections, and NCR management.
Strong attention to detail with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and quality management/document control systems.
Experience in live or operational environments is an advantage.
Currently residing in Ireland/UK with a valid Irish work visa or an EU passport essential.
