Job Overview:

About the Role:
1. Champion best practices in health, safety, and environmental management in coordination with the SHQE department.
2. Ensure accurate and effective implementation of setting-out techniques and methodologies.
3. Verify that construction drawings and specification documents are complete, accurate, and sufficient for project execution. Promptly request additional information if needed to avoid delays.
4. Conduct quality checks in compliance with company and project-specific procedures.
5. Collaborate with foremen and supervisors to ensure clear understanding and implementation of project requirements.
6. Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant, graduate, and junior engineers.
7. Assist in the design and implementation of temporary works schemes.
8. Take initiative in identifying and nurturing key team members, coaching and supporting their development.
9. Oversee site activities under your control, ensuring unsafe conditions and noncompliance with company policies are promptly addressed.
10. Foster positive relationships with clients, designers, internal teams, and supply chain partners.
11. Support material and plant selection and requisition processes for construction activities.
12. Contribute to the preparation of written risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe execution of work.
13. Ensure inspection and test plans are completed in accordance with the PMP and project specifications, including checks for dimensional accuracy and quality.
14. Maintain clear and effective communication with the commercial team regarding issues with potential contractual or commercial impact.
Requirements:
* Must have groundworks experience.
* 5+ years, proven experience in civil engineering projects.
* Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
* Proven experience/training with all the latest surveying/CAD techniques.
* Ability to use setting out equipment including total station and reading of drawings and specification documents.
* An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking a large scale construction project.
* Knowledge of current civil engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
* Water experience is preferred.
