Smurfit Westrock Cork is seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Co-Ordinator. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service. The successful candidate will be a key link between our customers and internal departments, ensuring smooth communication and efficient order management.
The Role
We are looking for someone who:
* Delivers a consistently high level of customer service to both customers and Customer Solutions Managers.
* Acts as a key liaison between internal departments (Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Dispatch) to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Supports the team in achieving optimal performance in cost efficiency, service levels, and responsiveness to customer needs.
* Manages the full order process.
* Handles customer complaints professionally.
* Manages customer pricing and invoice queries in a timely and accurate manner.
* Coordinates the completion of enquiry forms for new customer specifications.
* Oversees the customer sample approval process, ensuring all samples are signed off prior to order placement.
* Supports Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) processes and meets specific customer stock requirements.
* Requests and manages materials for traded products as needed.
* Conducts customer site visits to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for service improvement.
* Collaborates with internal teams to continuously improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Competencies / Qualifications / Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a customer service or internal sales role, preferably within a manufacturing or B2B environment
* Third-level degree in Business, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
* Fluent English, both verbal and written
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
* Strong IT proficiency, including experience with order processing systems and Microsoft Office Suite
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* High level of attention to detail, with strong organisational and time management skills
* A solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently
* Demonstrated innovative thinking, with a proactive approach to improving processes and enhancing customer experience
