Speech and Language Therapist Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team working directly with patients on their recovery journey after illness, injury, or neurological events.
Job Purpose
As a Speech & Language Therapist in this setting, you will be assessing and treating adults with swallowing and communication difficulties to ensure every patient has the best chance at recovery and improved quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with swallowing, communication, and cognitive-communication disorders
* Deliver specialist dysphagia assessments and evidence-based interventions
* Work closely with patients with neurological conditions including stroke, acquired brain injury, and progressive neurological disease
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide holistic care tailored to each patient
* Educate and support patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure safe and effective care
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to service development
Essential Requirements:
* Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
* CORU registration (essential)
* Dysphagia qualification (essential)
* Relevant acute hospital or rehabilitation experience
* Experience working with older adults with communication and swallowing needs
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
