Reporting to the Risk Manager, the Risk Analyst will support the implementation of GNI’s Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Framework, assisting the business in identifying, measuring, monitoring and reporting on its risk profile.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across all levels of the organisation, including Risk Leads and Champions, to ensure risk best practice is demonstrated. They will have a key role in coordinating risk reporting to the Executive team, Audit and Risk Committee, Board and external stakeholders, and will collaborate with other assurance functions to ensure the effectiveness of our Three Lines governance model.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Risk Manager in implementing GNI’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework, ensuring leading practices across the business.
Support the planning, design and implementation of the ERM Framework, ERM Policy and ERM governance reporting process.
Assist with the roll‑out of the ERM annual plan, including delivering business‑wide risk initiatives.
Support the ERM governance reporting process, ensuring a structured formal review and challenge of the risk profile across the business with appropriate mitigation plans in place.
Coordinate the escalation of risks to Executive and Board level committees. Develop and complete ad‑hoc risk reports, presentations and horizon scanning.
Develop strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels across GNI, ensuring that risks are anticipated and managed by engaging with key business stakeholders and participating in relevant meetings on key risk areas.
Assist in the development of a risk‑aware culture, ensuring that the network of Risk Leads and Champions have the necessary training and knowledge to support the ERM Framework.
Act as the risk management system administrator and embed the system across the business.
Drive continuous improvement, including developing the system, enhancing reporting and dashboards, and providing training to support the ERM Framework.
Support risk reporting to external stakeholders.
Collaborate with audit and assurance teams to support the Three Lines Governance model.
Adopt a ‘one team’ and ‘collaborative’ way of working.
Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Relevant third‑level qualification, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
At least 3 years’ experience in a risk management or similar role at a utility company or comparable organisation is an advantage.
Good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of technical and professional decisions on the performance of the Company.
Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally, using strong influencing skills to achieve business goals.
Proven track record of dealing with complex issues proactively and in a timely fashion, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to others.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, coupled with the ability to generate innovative technical solutions as required.
Understanding of IT concepts and systems.
