Reporting to the SCM Workstream Lead, this role focuses on assisting with the configuration, testing, and validation of supply chain-related applications, including inventory control, purchasing, requisitioning, receiving, and supply distribution. The SCM Build Team Member will contribute to aligning system functionality with supply chain workflows and operational requirements under the guidance of the SCM Workstream Lead. This role provides operational and technical support for the SCM workstream, collaborating with clinical, financial, and technical teams to ensure a smooth and effective transformation of supply chain functions. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
General Accountabilities
The Supply Chain Management Build Team Member will support the SCM Workstream Lead in delivering the Supply Chain Management workstream for the Cúram EHR implementation within UPMC Ireland. The role involves assisting in executing tasks within the project scope and governance, including stakeholder coordination and milestone tracking. The member will collaborate with the SCM Workstream Lead and other workstream members to ensure alignment with supply chain operations and programme goals. Additionally, the role includes contributing to the documentation of workflows, system configurations, and testing different outcomes (e.g. interoperability, data migration, reporting, end-user devices) to support a seamless end-user experience.
System Design & Workflow Support
* Serve as a supporting subject matter expert (SME) for SCM-related functions in MEDITECH Expanse and associated applications, including inventory control, purchasing, requisitioning, receiving, and supply distribution.
* Assist in the design and validation of SCM workflows within MEDITECH Expanse and associated applications, working closely with analysts and operational leaders.
* Review and provide feedback on system functionality related to SCM processes.
* Support the implementation of related modules such as Theatres, Medicines Management, Patient Access, scheduling, and the patient portal, particularly where these intersect with supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with inventory availability and replenishment cycles.
* Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure clinical supply usage aligns with catalog items, barcode scanning, and charge capture processes to support accurate supply utilization tracking and cost recovery.
Implementation Support, Testing & Data Validation
* Assist in SCM system configuration, data migration validation, and integration with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
* Participate in testing activities for SCM modules and associated applications, including integrated testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), under the guidance of the SCM Workstream Lead.
* Help identify and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with IT, finance, and clinical Workstreams.
* Assist in verifying item master accuracy, vendor and contract data, location mapping, and par levels in MEDITECH.
* Support the validation of interfaces between MEDITECH and third-party systems (e.g., ERP, financial systems, distributors).
* Assist in validating statutory, management, and operational reporting requirements for SCM functions.
* Support change management efforts by addressing workflow impacts, practice changes, and documentation requirements for SCM staff.
* Contribute to go-live readiness and stabilization efforts, including supporting real-time issue resolution and workflow adjustments.
* Contribute to standards development processes and engage with SCM SMEs during design and optimization discussions.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and procurement standards as directed.
Team Collaboration & Support
* Assist in coordinating cross-functional SCM implementation activities, including supporting materials coordinators, procurement staff, Accounts Payable staff, warehouse leads, and clinical partners.
* Participate in workgroup meetings, documenting decisions, risks, and issues as directed.
* Act as a secondary liaison between supply chain functions and the Cúram implementation team, escalating issues to the SCM Workstream Lead as needed.
* Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for materials management and relevant end-users.
* Provide hands-on support during go-live and stabilization phases, helping to ensure continuity of supply chain operations.
* Support the training team in delivering education on SCM workflows within MEDITECH Expanse and associated applications.
* Contribute to the handover process by supporting training delivery to the future EHR BAU team members.
Documentation & Governance
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including current state/future state maps, risk/issue logs, and change logs, as assigned by the SCM Workstream Lead.
* Assist in preparing materials for governance processes, such as the Business Design Forum and senior management meetings.
* Support the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for SCM readiness, adoption, and post-go-live performance.
* Contribute to documenting lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to procurement, clinical safety, and digital health as directed.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare supply chain management or materials management.
* In-depth understanding of item master management, inventory control, procurement processes, and clinical integration.
* Good project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
* Good analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across clinical and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience supporting or leading system implementations (preferably MEDITECH or similar ERP/EHR platforms).
* Experience as a user of MEDITECH SCM modules or other equivalent major EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health).
* Experience with SCM to Finance data and business flows, barcode scanning, point-of-use (POU) systems, and clinical-to-supply cost tracking
* Familiarity with clinical-to-financial workflow alignment and charge integrity.
* Knowledge of clinical decision support, change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR), and regulatory requirements (e.g., documentation standards, medication safety protocols).
* Training in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean) or project management
