A Global semiconductor giant based in Cork are seeking to bolster their team with a talented Security Firmware Engineer to join the embedded team.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and debug low-level embedded firmware for high-performance inference accelerator platforms targeting Edge and Data Center deployments.Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs), including device drivers, board bring-up, RTOS integration, and secure boot/TrustZone enablement.Collaborate on SoC architecture and peripheral interfaces, covering CPU cores, caches, memory subsystems, buses, interrupt controllers, timers, and hardware IP blocks.Apply software engineering best practices, including version control (git/Gerrit), structured development processes, testing, and debugging workflows.Contribute to platform security initiatives, including secure system design, trusted execution environments, cryptographic applications, and confidential computing features.Requirements:Strong proficiency in C/C++ firmware development and hands-on debugging using GNU/LLVM toolchains, JTAG/SWD, serial debuggers, and RAM dumps.Experience with RTOS concepts, multi-threaded programming, synchronization, and embedded system design.Knowledge of platform security concepts, including secure boot, TrustZone, TEEs, attestation, isolation, and lifecycle management.Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, LPDDR, SPMI, AVSBus, and PMBus, plus Linux kernel, driver, or firmware experience.Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with proven ability to operate at a Staff Engineer level, owning complex subsystems, collaborating across teams, and providing architectural guidance.If this role is of interest please apply directly on LinkedIn or send a copy of your CV to -By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
