Job Title: Maintenance / Facilities Technician Location: Longford, Ireland An established and growing medical device manufacturer based in Longford is currently seeking a Maintenance / Facilities Technician to join their onsite engineering team.

This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining equipment reliability, supporting production uptime, and ensuring the smooth operation of facility systems within a regulated manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting day-to-day maintenance activities, preventative maintenance programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key responsibilities: Carry out maintenance, repair, and rebuild activities on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimise downtime Respond to breakdowns and repair requests in a timely manner to support production continuity Conduct routine inspections and identify worn or faulty components Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and service records Support improvements to existing machinery to enhance efficiency and reliability Work closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to maintain high operational standards Manage and maintain spare parts and maintenance inventory Work onsite within a manufacturing environment as part of a shift-based team Requirements: Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Minimum of two years' experience in a maintenance or facilities role within a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills Experience working in a regulated or high-volume manufacturing environment is advantageous Experience with asset management systems such as Maximo is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided Additional information: Shift-based position with an initial two-cycle shift pattern, moving to a four-cycle system in the future Opportunity to join a stable and well-established manufacturing site with long-term development opportunities If you would like to learn more, please apply directly.
