Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a **QC Laboratory Technician** to join our Ashland Specialties Ireland Limited business at our **Mullingar, Ireland site**. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the **Life Sciences/Quality** function. This position will report to the Quality Manager.* Carry out in‐process and finished‐good polymer testing, as well as routine analysis of incoming raw materials, in accordance with established laboratory procedures.* Perform analytical work across a range of techniques—including GC, NMR, SEC/GPC, FTIR, ICP‐MS, KF and wet chemistry—ensuring accurate execution and timely completion of testing (with training provided where needed).* Generate, review, and maintain GMP‐compliant laboratory documentation, including analytical reports, batch history records, and associated data integrity requirements.* Enter analytical data, manage batch status, and track laboratory inventory using internal systems such as iLIMS and SAP.* Conduct internal calibration, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of laboratory instruments, and coordinate external calibration services to maintain equipment readiness.* Manage laboratory consumables and reagents, ensuring adequate stock levels and completing scheduled quarterly inventory checks.* Support the QMS activities, including participating in OOS investigations, assisting with CAPA actions, and preparing for audits.* Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment by following site health and safety procedures and participating in routine safety activities.* You will collaborate closely with a skilled Quality team and wider site operations, contributing to activities such as gas cylinder management, safety checks, and ordering of laboratory/office materials.* We welcome new ideas and continuous improvement — you will have the opportunity to influence laboratory efficiency, analytical workflows, and quality system enhancements.* Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety.* Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others.* A minimum of a Level 8 / Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.* 1–2 years of experience working with iLIMS or similar laboratory information management systems.* Strong computer literacy, including the ability to work confidently with digital laboratory systems and data‐entry platforms.* A solid understanding of laboratory safety practices, GMP guidelines and the ability to support safe operations across laboratory and site activities.* Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.* The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different.
