Job Title: Head of Technical Location: Monaghan, IrelandOverview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Technical to join a dynamic and rapidly growing food manufacturing company in Monaghan. As the Head of Technical, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical team and ensuring the highest standards of quality, food safety, and compliance across all aspects of the production process. This is a strategic leadership role, ideal for an experienced technical professional with a strong background in food manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and develop the technical team to ensure effective operations across food safety, quality, and compliance.Ensure all products are manufactured to meet customer specifications and industry regulations.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems, including BRCGS and HACCP.Manage the site's food safety procedures and ensure the site complies with all relevant local and international standards.Act as the key point of contact for customer audits, ensuring the facility is audit-ready at all times.Collaborate with the Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to optimize product quality, efficiency, and safety.Provide technical guidance and support to all departments to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational performance.Monitor and report on technical performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as required.Drive initiatives to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.Essential Criteria:Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, BRCGS, FSAI) and quality management systems.Proven leadership experience with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all departments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.Experience with customer and third-party audits is essential (Tesco & M&S)Why Apply?Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work with a market leader in the food manufacturing industry.Be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team in a growing company.Chance to influence strategic decisions and drive business success.If you have a passion for food safety, quality assurance, and leadership, we would love to hear from you.
