The UCC Cancer Trials Group (UCC CTG) is looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant/Clinical Trials Associate to work in a growing data management team in the Cancer Trials Cork Unit at the Cork University Hospital.
About UCC CTG
UCC CTG is an HRB funded collaborative team that brings together cancer specialists and research staff across the south of Ireland. It is part of Cancer Research @UCC, a translational cancer research centre within the College of Medicine & Health at University College Cork. UCC CTG includes three cancer trials units at Cork University Hospital, University Hospital Waterford and Bons Secours Hospital Cork.
Cancer Trials Cork at CUH has operated for two decades, serving a population of 1.2 million in the South of Ireland. The portfolio covers phase 1‑3 therapeutic trials, radiation therapy, surgery, industry trials and investigator‑initiated trials.
Project Title
Research Assistant‑Clinical Trials Associate
Duration
12 months, full‑time post.
Responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to the data management portfolio of studies in the Cancer Trials Cork Unit at CUH. They will be responsible for the creation, updating, maintenance and validation of clinical study databases, and for generating computerised reports of these data. The role requires excellent communication, computer literacy, organisation and time‑management skills. The Research Assistant will manage clinical trials through review, computerisation, cleaning and auditing of clinical data and databases in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory agency guidelines. They must ensure data accuracy and consistency before passing the information to the study team for analysis.
Other Requirements
Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check will be part of the selection process.
Salary
Appointment may be made on the Research Assistant IUA Salary Scale: €33,791 – €43,872. Salary placement will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
