Role
As a Senior HSQE Advisor at Glanua, you will support the implementation of our HSQE System and work closely with site teams to ensure safe delivery of projects and manage risks on site.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a team in safe delivery of projects, embracing a "one team" culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are always adhered to on site.
Instil a positive Health and Safety culture within the team.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation and maintain awareness of changes.
Provide onsite HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure controls, mitigation measures are implemented, maintained, and performance monitored.
Help senior advisors develop Site Construction Stage plans, traffic management, waste management, etc., and monitor their implementation.
Ensure the Company carries out the duties of PD, PC and Contractor.
Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.
Monitor and report the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided during weekly inspections/audits through our online management system.
Conduct accident/incident investigations timely with project team, recommending to management.
Obtain and review safety documentation from clients, suppliers, subcontractors.
Ensure subcontractors are aware of Company's Plan and required safety statements before appointment.
Review, revise, and update Plan in light of subcontractor info, progress, new design info and incidents.
Implement Plan and monitor compliance of Company personnel and subcontractors against Plan.
Raise safety, health or welfare issues to Contract Manager, Site Agent/foreman before leaving site.
Advise site management on adequacy of safety and health provisions, safe working methods, equipment safety, and validity of test certificates.
Maintain all site safety documentation with site team.
Plan and hold safety inductions and briefings of Company and subcontractor personnel as per Safety and Health Plan for each project.
Carry out site inspections and generate reports.
Liaise with external parties relating to HSQE.
Ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) compliance.
Assess training needs of employees and ensure training requirements identified prior to new projects; bring training needs to HSQE Manager.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Level 7 or higher qualification in Health and Safety.
Previous experience in a similar role desirable but not required.
Extensive knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Legislation, Regulations and Best Practice.
Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling Certification and First Aid.
Temporary Works Co‑ordinator qualification and lifting operations experience.
Confined Space experience an advantage.
Strong influence and championing of best practice.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and competence in new technologies.
Full Driving Licence.
