Quality Assistant Manager
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Quality Assistant Manager
to join our quality team.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with the site's Quality Management System while driving continual improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with supplier monitoring and control procedures.
Complete customer specifications, questionnaires, and tender documents.
Conduct internal audits (e.g., traceability and fabrication) and follow up on corrective actions.
Support new product development activities from a quality perspective.
Oversee calibration of measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Deliver training to staff on food safety and hygiene procedures.
Lead and coordinate the hygiene team on site.
Assist with customer queries and manage complaint resolution.
Support implementation and maintenance of QMS and HACCP systems.
Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.
Carry out additional quality and technical duties as directed by the Technical Manager.
Requirements:
Degree in
Food Science
or a related discipline.
Minimum
3 years' experience
in a similar role within a food manufacturing or processing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Solid understanding of
BRC Standards
and major retailer requirements.
Good working knowledge of
Microsoft Office
and general IT systems.
