Assistant Director of Nursing – Oncology & Haematology Service
Essential Criteria
Registered on the general division of the register of nurses maintained by NMBI.
At least 5 years of post‑registration experience in an acute setting.
Minimum 2 years management experience at CNMIII or above.
Completed a management training programme.
Proven clinical and professional ability.
Good IT skills with proficiency in all relevant applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on personal initiative.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, able to positively engage with patients and staff.
Enthusiastic and highly motivated.
Proven ability to work under pressure.
Ability to deal with staff at all levels within the organization.
Knowledge of accreditation process and other national quality initiatives.
Competency in the English language is required.
Desirable Criteria
Degree level qualification or higher within the speciality.
Ability to analyse, report on and effect change in nursing practice.
Sound knowledge of procedures and protocols in operational matters.
Evidence of post‑registration professional development.
Ability to anticipate trends, identify opportunities, and forward plan for service developments.
Knowledge of clinical risk management from investigation to reporting and documentation of adverse incidents.
