**Solar Safety Manager Job Summary
This role involves overseeing and implementing safety programs for solar construction and installation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, developing risk mitigation strategies, and fostering a culture of safety among employees and subcontractors.
Main Responsibilities
* Safety Policy Development: Develop, implement, and manage safety policies and procedures for solar projects to ensure a safe working environment.
* Site Safety Inspections: Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other relevant regulations.
* Training and Education: Train employees and subcontractors on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of protective equipment to minimize the risk of accidents.
* Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine their causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety compliance, incidents, and training records to maintain a safe working environment.
* Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to proactively address safety concerns and ensure effective communication throughout the project.
* Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry safety standards, technologies, and best practices to enhance safety programs and stay compliant with regulatory requirements.
* Leadership and Problem-Solving: Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills to promote a culture of safety and provide opportunities for employees to learn and grow.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or renewable energy safety management.
* Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30/OSHA 500, or similar safety certifications preferred.
* Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and solar energy industry regulations.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Physical Abilities: Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel to project sites as needed.
* Software Proficiency: Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
