We're now looking for a Large Animal–focused Animal Care Assistant to join our team and play a hands-on role in farm animal care across Tipperary and surrounding areas.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, working outdoors, and being part of essential veterinary care within the agricultural community.Flexible Hours, Real Work-Life BalanceThis is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time options:Full-time: 40 hours per week across 5 daysPart-time: Monday, Tuesday and Fridays 8:30am-5:30pm plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 9am-4pmShifts: Generally 8:30am-5:30pmSaturdays: 1 in 3 (9am-4pm)No Sundays or Bank HolidaysThe Role: Where Farm Work Meets Veterinary CareThis role is primarily focused on large animal (farm) work, and you'll be a key support to our vets both in the large animal office and out on farm calls.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Assisting veterinary surgeons on farm visits, including TB testingSupporting large animal administrative work and client communicationPreparing equipment and vehicles for farm callsHandling, caring for, and assisting with restraint of livestockMaintaining cleanliness and biosecurity standardsHelping ensure smooth coordination between clients, farms, and vetsWhile there may be some crossover with small animal or reception duties, this role is firmly large animal biased and ideal for someone looking to build long-term experience in farm veterinary work.About Southview Veterinary HospitalEstablished in 2003, Southview Veterinary Hospital provides trusted care to both farm and companion animals across Tipperary.
