Role Description
This is a contract role for an Operations Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and the smooth functioning of business processes. The Operations Manager will coordinate with various departments to ensure operational goals are met, implement improvements to streamline workflows, and support overall organizational growth.
Key responsibilities include managing budgets, optimizing operational performance, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring the implementation of best practices in operations management. The Operations Manager will work closely with teams to identify and resolve any operational challenges, maintaining a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction, reducing costs, and improving service delivery.
In addition, the role will involve managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager will also be tasked with mentoring and training staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting strategic decision-making to achieve long-term operational goals.
Qualifications
Operations Management Expertise: Strong background in managing operations, with a solid understanding of processes, procedures, and operational best practices.
Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams, ensuring alignment with operational goals and promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance and resolve issues.
Project Management Skills: Experience in managing projects, coordinating tasks, and ensuring timely delivery of objectives while maintaining high-quality standards.
Budget Management: Experience in managing budgets, reducing operational costs, and identifying areas for financial improvement.
Process Improvement: Expertise in implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies through lean methodologies or other improvement techniques.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, from front-line staff to senior management.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with operations management software, project management tools, and ERP systems. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other operational management tools.
Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements, ensuring that all operations align with legal and ethical standards.
* Relevant Academic Qualifications: A degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or project management are an advantage.
