Product Engineer (Full-Time Position with a hybrid working model based in our Head Office in Citynorth Business Park, Stamullen, Co. Meath)
The successful candidate will join the Engineering team to support the product management of allocated key products in our ever-expanding product range.
You will be required to maintain a finger on the pulse of all activities related to your product, act as the ambassador for your product both internally and externally. You will be the conduit for information between the customer and Hanley.
You will be required to develop an in-depth knowledge of how your product works, drive improvement initiatives, perform analysis of complex problems and incorporate feedback from our customers, communicating with our commissioning, design, and controls teams to further develop our product.
To ensure success as a Product Engineer at Hanley Energy, you should have a strong engineering background with demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. You will need to be an organized individual and with the ability to bring others along with you.
Your Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, design, commissioning, service, procurement, sales, and controls) to manage product design changes effectively.
* Ensure alignment between product functionality, customer needs, and business goals, refining product performance based on technical feedback.
* Act as the voice of the customer, working closely with external stakeholders to understand customer requirements, articulate them to internal teams, and oversee global product deployment projects.
* Analyze quality, performance, and customer data to identify product issues through root cause analysis, implementing design or process changes to resolve them and drive product development opportunities.
* Ensure timely updates to technical documents, drawings, and manuals to reflect design modifications and enhancements.
* Monitor successful project delivery, working closely with project managers to provide guidance, make key decisions, and remove blockers.
* Oversee best-in-class product lifecycle management, ensuring accurate tracking and processing of product data from the factory (e.g., serial number, configuration).
* Develop and maintain structured data entry processes, ensuring product information is correctly captured in the designated platform.
* Monitor data integrity, troubleshoot issues, and ensure internal teams understand their responsibilities regarding product tracking.
* Leverage product data to support service-related activities, including SLA management, reliability investigations, OEM component recalls, and customer service offerings.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline product data workflows, ensuring all relevant stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date product information.
Skills and Experience:
* 2–4 years of relevant experience in engineering, product development, or a similar field.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong report-writing abilities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and propose innovative solutions.
* Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen, ensuring alignment between product performance, customer expectations, and company objectives.
* Proactive, self-starter mentality, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and demonstrating excellent time management skills.
* Exceptional communication abilities, able to engage, influence, and inspire internal teams, stakeholders, and customers to drive collaboration and alignment.
* High level of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability to ensure product success and documentation accuracy.
* Critical thinker with an innovative mindset, continuously looking for improvements in product functionality and lifecycle management.
* Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, data entry, and compliance processes.
* Must be entitled to work in Ireland.
* Degree in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experiential learning.
* Hands-on experience with LV switchgear or electrical equipment or PLC-based control systems.
* Familiarity with electrical equipment, including power supplies, PLCs, HMIs, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, sensors, and control panels.
* Experience in managing and deploying electrical systems in mission-critical environments.
* Ability to troubleshoot and optimize electrical systems for enhanced performance and reliability.
* Strong project management skills with a focus on electrical engineering projects.
* Experience leveraging AI tools to optimize, streamline, and enhance lifecycle management data for products.
