The Byrne Hotel Group is looking for a Front Office Manager to join the Front Office team in Galway. The Front Office team are the first point of contact for guests and the Front Office Manager will work with the team to provide an exceptional welcome for all our guests and reinforce a strong customer focused approach.This is a hands-on role, working with a very experienced front office team & hotel manager. This role is best suited to a person with experience managing a team and with Front Office experience in a comparable hotel.Your ResponsibilitiesCo-ordinate all functions of the Front Office with a hands-on approachReinforcing a customer focused approach within the Front Office Team at all timesWork with the Front Office team to ensure all guest have a positive experience by delivering a smooth Check-In and Check-out processWork closely with other departments to ensure booking information is shared and accurateEnsure quality of data is maintained within the booking system enabling accurate guest history and sales informationEncourage guest feedback and implement a system for addressing comments to ensure guest satisfaction and continuous improvementMonitor guest feedback trends, address challenges in service standards. Actively solicit guest opinion by ensuring a strong Front Office presence - meeting guests regularlyCarry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activitiesEnsuring that the standards of the Hotel are maintained at all timeLiaising with Senior Management on optimising sales and revenue growthWork closely with Sales on Promotions, Web Providers, Tour Operators and Property Website initiativesEnsuring that all daily / weekly / monthly reports for the department are completedTo co-ordinate and monitor all group reservation activities and guest cycleMaximise room and meeting room sales for the Hotel, maximise the rooms yield by practising strong Yield Management & working in partnership with Reservations & Sales TeamRecruit, train, develop and monitor staff in conjunction with the HR departmentPrepare rotas for the department in advance considering the business demand and to ensure that sufficient cover is available to meet those needs.Responsibility for training and development of all staff through use of departmental SOPs.Ensure that performance appraisals are carried out as and when required.Attending Management meetings and training sessions as requiredHandling general administration dutiesCover Duty Manager shifts as requiredAd hoc projectsComply with company regulations regarding, Fire, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Customer Care and Security.Experience And SkillsExperience in a similar role in the hospitality industry with a track record of people managementExcellent Management, Leadership, Organisation, Time Management and Communication skills essential for the roleUnderstanding of budgets and revenue with a proven track record of delivering on budgetsKnowledge of Opera or Hotsoft and hotel systems would be an advantage and will be looked favourably onExcellent knowledge of MS Word / Excel / Outlook.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommunicate fluently in English (written & oral)The CompanyThe Byrne Hotel Group is a unique collection of family-owned hotels and guests houses in Galway, Dublin and the UK offering Irish Hospitality at its best.
