Reporting directly to C‑Suite, the successful candidate will lead the organisation’s sustainability and ESG agenda, shaping strategy and driving the delivery of a progressive ESG roadmap across the business.
This role requires strong cross‑functional leadership to embed sustainability into core business operations, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements, industry frameworks, and best practice. Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to evolve and deliver the sustainability strategy, aligned with the company’s corporate purpose and growth ambitions.
Develop and implement a sustainability roadmap that translates long-term goals into clear, actionable priorities and programmes across the full value chain.
Lead the delivery of the company’s decarbonisation pathway across embodied and operational carbon, materials, and energy.
Drive climate resilience and adaptation planning in line with TCFD, CSRD, and emerging regulatory requirements.
Oversee biodiversity, water, and waste strategies to support nature-positive development.
Support the continued evolution of the company’s community investment and partnership programmes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including market leaders, academics, advisors, and strategic partners, ensuring the business remains at the forefront of ESG developments.
Oversee ESG reporting, ensuring data integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement across reporting processes.
Develop clear metrics, dashboards, and insights to support strategic decision-making across the business.
Partner closely with Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations teams to monitor emerging policy, regulation, and investor expectations.
Deliver ESG insights and strategic recommendations to the Leadership Team and Board, remaining ahead of industry trends and sustainability innovation.
Contribute to the company’s annual Sustainability Report.
Champion sustainability across the organisation through clear communication, practical integration, and employee engagement.
Inspire and empower teams to take ownership of the sustainability agenda and embed it into everyday decision‑making.
Requirements
Proven experience leading Sustainability and ESG initiatives at group or enterprise level.
Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, policy, and best practice, including ESRS, CSRD, and wider regulatory requirements.
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organisation.
Experience integrating ESG principles into wider business strategy and communications.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical capability, with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
Ability to simplify complex issues, bring stakeholders together, and deliver meaningful impact across a business.
