Security Service Engineer
The purpose of this role is to provide professional engineering expertise and deliver excellent internal and external customer service during the maintenance of various security systems, including CCTV, Intruder, Access Control, and others. The role also involves some installation and commissioning tasks.
The main challenges include meeting deadlines, ensuring thoroughness, applying customer service skills, and conducting root cause analysis on faults to meet business requirements.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions
* Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repairs of PC/Network-based and analogue security systems, with knowledge of various high-end software packages.
* Diagnose and repair a range of CCTV systems, from small-scale setups to large multi-site installations with PC-based digital recorders.
* Understand fibre optic transmission, LAN/WAN networks, and radio telemetry systems to troubleshoot faults effectively; liaise with higher-grade engineers as needed.
* Provide emergency solutions outside regular hours as per departmental rota.
* Collaborate across departments to ensure delivery of scope of work aligned with customer expectations.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute actively to business activities.
* Focus on personal development and performance, engaging in reviews and training to stay updated with technical knowledge.
* Operate according to business-specific applications and processes, including order submission, stock control, timesheet submission, and job closing.
* Travel between sites as required during the working day.

Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
* NVQ in Electronic Security or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, and Intruder systems.
* Understanding of Windows Operating Systems and digital electronics principles.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards.
* Proficiency with TCP/IP and network fundamentals.
