We have been supporting global healthcare systems from Ireland and the UK for more than 20 years, building a dynamic and diverse team of more than 2,100 talented individuals.ResponsibilitiesProduct innovation:Identify opportunities for improvement in analytical tools and research methodologiesServe as an expert resource to Advisory Board researchers, data analysts, and engineersScope and project manage work to deliver on tool enhancements and research initiativesPartner with engineers and developers to build analyses into scalable tools and data pipelinesPrototype new products and solutionsMaintain familiarity with the state-of-the-art around big data analytics and associated technologies and techniquesData analysis and modeling:Use AI/ML methods to develop scalable analytical tools and researchDevelop numerical/statistical programs to support analytical and research workAnalyze large healthcare datasets (e.g. claims, EHR, other)Build datasets by connecting tables from across sourcesCollaboration:Partner with research teams to surface ideas and use data analysis to produce future-oriented insightsAct as thought partner to management team on future direction of team and roleBe an independent thinker and advocate of data science methods and applicationsBuild and maintain relationships with Optum and UHG colleagues as teams partners on projects and analysisArticulate and communicate a vision with strong presentation skills, translating complex concepts, results, models and technologies for diverse audiencesEmployment DetailsSchedule: Full-time position with standard hours Monday – Friday. Telecommuting options may apply depending on location.Location: Dublin, Ireland area (Letterkenny or Dublin offices may be involved); hybrid work model may apply.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant subject OR equivalent experienceProven experience in data analysis and modelingAbility to perform statistical modelling and analysis of datasetsAbility to work on AI/ML use casesBackground in machine learning and statisticsFoundation in data structures and algorithmsExtensive programming experience with Python/Pyspark or other analytics languagesAbility to write complex SQL queriesExperience designing and executing analyses on large data setsPreferred QualificationsExperience in large-scale data analysis and machine learningExperience with supervised and unsupervised learning methods for model build and deploymentMaster of Science (or higher) in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, or related fieldExperience in AWS tools (Redshift, S3, Glue, etc.)Understanding of raw health care claims data, including Medicare and commercial data setsExperience building analytical productsExperience with user testingDemonstrated depth of health care knowledge and expertiseSoft SkillsWritten and oral communication skillsAdditional NotesPlease note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
