Our client is a leading Irish Civils contractor who possess ISO9001 accreditation and continually lead the way in integrated services and support.
Due to increased project demands, they are seeking to recruit an experienced Construction Logistics Coordinator to join office based team.
To efficiently coordinate and manage a fleet of approximately 14 grab lorries working across utility projects in the Dublin area.
The role ensures that grab operations are scheduled, tracked, and optimised daily, reducing downtime and maximising fleet efficiency through a centralised booking
and tracking system.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and assign daily routes and tasks to all grab lorries based on project/site needs.
Liaise with site supervisors, utility crews, and crew leaders to confirm material removal or delivery needs (e.g., muck away, stone deliveries, trench backfill).
Monitor real-time activity and reallocate resources as needed due to delays or emergency requests.
Implement and manage a central booking system to allow site teams to reserve grab services.
Prioritise bookings by urgency, geographic proximity, material type, and programme deadlines.
Maintain a live tracking system for all grab locations (via GPS, telematics, or driver updates).
Record daily stats number of loads, material types removed/delivered, wait times, idle time.
Generate weekly performance and utilisation reports for senior management.
Act as a single point of contact between operations, site teams, and grab drivers.
Escalate issues such as delays, access restrictions, or repeated inefficiencies.
Ensure all grab lorries and operators are compliant with road regulations, permits, and safety protocols.
Coordinate with HSEQ team regarding inspections and audits.
Requirements
Essential previous experience in logistics, fleet management, or site coordination (ideally in utilities or civils).
Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, or fleet management software.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
Desirable
Experience working with telematics/GPS software (e.g., Verizon Connect, Fleetmatics, Trackmatic).
Background in utilities, reinstatement, or civils logistics coordination.
Familiarity with Road Opening Licences (ROLs) and Dublin City Council Roadworks Control.
