It is particularly well-suited to radiography students seeking hands-on experience in a clinical setting and the chance to learn directly from experienced radiographers.This opportunity offers:Flexible / bank positionWorkingin a dynamic and supportive clinical environmentExposure to a wide range of radiology workflows and patient interactionsValuable experience for those pursuing a career in radiography or healthcareIf you're enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to make a difference in patient care, we'd love to hear from youKey Responsibilities Assist the radiographer in completing daily worklists Assist patients through the patient journey, verifying their identity, explaining the procedure, reassuring the patient if anxious, making them feel comfortable prior exam, checking safety questionnaires, and making sure patient is properly prepared and dressed for relevant examProvide emotional and physical support to patients during treatment, act as chaperone for intimate sonography examinations, follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safety and dignity at all timesTransport patients to and from scanning areas, assist patient in changing area, if necessary, assist radiographer with safe lifting and positioning during examHelp to maintain scanning systems and accessory equipment, report any fault with equipment, clean imaging equipment as needed, responsible for knowing how to clean all areas of assigned modality area according to established IP&C policies and protocols. Know how to set up ultrasound or/and MRI equipment/coils. Follow Ultrasound probe cleaning protocolsMonitor the use of consumables and re-stock clinical areas as requiredComplete clerical tasks such as scanning referrals, input of data, maintaining records, adding and updating exam information across different information and patient management systemsWho we are:Medica Ireland is an Irish owned award-winning radiology services provider employing over 180 staff members in Ireland alone. Qualifications:QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred but not essential)Currently studying Radiography (desirable)Essential Skills:Highly organised and ability to manage several tasks simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detailAbility to work on own initiativeFriendly and professional manner and confidence in working with people at all levels in a companyReal team playerExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to be discreet and act in confident manner when necessaryResilient, flexible, and open to change.
