What can you expect:
As the Head of Agile Delivery in Mercer PDE, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our Agile teams' delivery capabilities. Your expertise will be essential in navigating complex challenges and ensuring that our organization is well-prepared to meet new demands effectively. You will be responsible for implementing strategies that drive continuous improvement in our delivery processes while managing our pipeline of new strategic demand.
We will count on you to:
* Support Agile Teams: Act as a key resource, providing guidance and support in their delivery activities. Help navigate challenges and foster a culture of collaboration. You will have line management responsibilities for Pod and Squad Leads.
* Delivery Improvement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery flow, efficiency, and effectiveness. Work with teams to identify bottlenecks and areas for enhancement.
* Demand Management: Oversee the management of new demand pipelines, ensuring prioritization and alignment with strategic goals. Establish plans and processes for timely delivery.
* Organizational Preparedness: Ensure organization readiness for new demand by assessing and improving capabilities, tools, and resources. Collaborate to identify gaps and implement solutions.
* Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of ongoing improvement across delivery teams, encouraging adoption of Agile practices to deliver value effectively.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Work with business leaders to align delivery with organizational goals. Communicate effectively to keep all parties informed.
* Transformation Management: Manage portfolio plans for engineering and delivery transformation, optimizing for flow.
What you need to have:
* Experience in developing and implementing delivery improvement strategies.
* Strong organizational skills managing demand pipelines and strategic alignment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
* Experience in various technology roles, ideally with development engineering background.
* Financial acumen for budget management and cost analysis.
What makes you stand out:
* Qualifications in scaled agile leadership and transformation, e.g., SAFe SPC, ASPC, Lean Portfolio Management, Certified Agile Leader.
* Experience across a range of technology roles, with development engineering background preferred.
* Certifications like CSP, KMP, ICP-ACC, SAFe SPC, Lean Portfolio.
* Management and leadership certifications are advantageous but not essential.
* Strong financial skills, including managing engineering delivery spend.
* Vendor management experience to ensure vendor fit for cross-functional teams.
