Senior Process Engineer Job
We are seeking a talented Senior Process Engineer to join our team at our office in Cork, Ireland. The ideal candidate will have process design and operations experience in pharmaceutical facilities, including biologic and organic synthesis Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
About the Role
The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes and supporting utilities on a scale that can range from developmental pilot plant to full commercial production. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Process Engineer to conceptualize and deliver projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting the Lead Process Engineer with conceptual design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.
* Designing utilities generation and distribution systems for new and existing manufacturing processes, including Utility Sizing models.
* Generating Process P&IDs that include process control strategy and CIP/SIP functions, if appropriate.
* Also generating P&IDs for critical utility systems, such as Pharma Water, Clean Steam, Process Gases, Heat Transfer Systems and Process Waste.
* Performing engineering studies for expanding, improving or automating existing facilities without supervision.
* Producing Equipment specifications and Equipment Datasheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
* Supporting the delivery of Vendor packages through Scoping, Specification, Detailed Design, Construction and CQV.
* Generating Process Calculations to support design.
* Supporting Process Safety and Environmental studies including HAZOP, ATEX, Risk Assessment, COSHH and implementation of EU/ISO standards.
* Assuming ownership of the process-related aspects of a portion of a large project or an entire small project, and providing technical support to the project design team.
* Making use of and participating in development of company design and production tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.
* Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and members of the IPS design team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 8 years of process engineering design experience, in the Biopharmaceutical industry.
* Process design and operations experience in pharmaceutical facilities, which include biologic and organic synthesis Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering.
* Proven experience generating PFDs, P&IDs, process equipment data sheets as well as supporting calculations, studies and narratives.
* General knowledge of Pharma system design and applicable codes in process engineering.
* Has demonstrated strong time management skills and the ability to manage projects, problem solve and communicate effectively with co-workers.
