Job Summary
We are seeking a Deputy Team Lead Data Analyst to lead and optimise our data operations processes. The role is responsible for overseeing data quality reviews, driving process improvements, and managing a team of analysts. Based in Dublin, the position is part of the EMELA Life Operations team, reporting to the Data Infrastructure Team Lead – Life & Health, EMELA.
The Data Management team processes, monitors, and analyses bordereaux data received from our cedants. The successful candidate will work closely with various business users on activities revolving around data including transforming and processing data in our tools. This data supports multiple functions across the organisation and is critical for various financial, actuarial studies and reporting.
About The Role
Oversee data operations processes, including task allocation and monitoring workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data procedures and best practices.
Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders regarding data operational issues, escalating technical matters as necessary.
Develop, monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data quality and team productivity.
Foster a high‑performance culture centred on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure understanding of the team’s deliverables and promote effective collaboration.
Support stakeholders with data‑related queries or issues.
Participate in projects or other ad‑hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data analysis, data operations or data management.
Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is a strong plus.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Fluent in English (verbal and written); knowledge of another language is a plus.
Experience in leading or managing a team.
A strong understanding of data structures and data processing workflows (coding expertise is not required).
Experience working with data management tools and ETL processes (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Excel).
Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and validate large data sets from multiple sources.
A solid understanding of data lifecycle management and best practices in data processing pipelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage across all levels of the organization.
