John Sisk & Son are seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager to join our team based in Limerick for a period of 6-8 weeks.
The Assistant Design Manager will be responsible for coordinating the design elements and interfaces of specific tasks or projects, depending on size and complexity. They will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender or project, ensuring that the design is delivered in line with the programme requirements and reflects the budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take ownership of ‘design’ related items within the tender bid process.
2. Contribute to the selection of the design team.
3. Manage and assist the Design Coordinator during construction.
4. Act as a mentor/advisor to the Design Coordinator during construction.
5. Manage design consultants, sub-consultants, and design subcontractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design-related information for on-site works.
6. Liaise with the M&E Coordinator to ensure compatibility of building and services.
7. Report on the design in line with cost meetings.
8. Understand different client procurement routes.
9. Support the pre-construction stage with relevant experience.
10. Understand various forms of contract.
11. Maintain commercial awareness.
12. Have a good working knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning Permission procedures, and CDM regulations.
13. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BIM, CAD, and View Point for Projects (4Projects).
14. Hold a degree in Construction or a related design field.
15. Experience with programming software and Breem accreditation is desirable.
