Offer description

Due to continued growth and high demand, a full-time Fire Engineer is required to provide fire strategy and compliance input across nationwide projects.
This position is based in Charleville, County Cork.
The successful candidate will be a conscientious, self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background.
They will demonstrate a passion for applying fire engineering expertise within a collaborative team environment and show flexibility in responding to fast-paced project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop fire strategies for a wide range of projects using relevant codes and standards including TGD Part B & M, BS ****, BS ****, FM Global, and NFPA.
Prepare and lodge Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) and Disabled Access Certificate (DAC) applications through the Building Control Management System (BCMS).
Provide consultancy services to design and contract administration teams on building regulations and compliance matters.
Lead fire strategy discussions with design teams, client representatives, building control authorities, and fire services.
Assess and implement insurer requirements related to reducing property damage and business interruption risk.
Support BCAR compliance processes and prepare fire inspection reports during the construction phase.
Supervise and mentor graduate engineers in fire engineering principles and best practices.
Conduct quality checks and reviews of project deliverables.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations.
Assist in generating proposals, project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Communicate effectively across teams and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate proactivity and experience across all stages of project delivery.
Requirements
Qualified Fire Engineer with 5+ years' experience, including fire safety and disabled access certification exposure.
Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Fire Engineering (preferred).
Strong understanding of fire safety engineering principles with a desire for continued career development.
Familiarity with relevant standards and codes: Part B & M, BS ****, BS ****, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Excellent written and spoken English.
Knowledge of architectural design standards and building regulations.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and vendors at all levels.
Experience using REVIT and BIM is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with BCAR and BCMS processes.
