Exciting opportunity at our head office — we’re hiring a Financial Accountant!
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Accounting Function in Head Office.
THE JOB:
* Responsible for year-end accounts and assist with the preparation of business/financial plans as required.
* Review all procedures and controls regularly and work closely with the finance team to update where necessary.
* Implement and maintain systems to support effective financial management, including budgetary control.
* Ensure that the financial reports produced for the weekly & monthly management meetings are correct.
* Responsible for ensuring the quality of work carried out by the team meets/exceeds expected standards.
* Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and the preparation of control accounts for debtors, bank, and creditors.
* Ensure that there are proper controls in place to prevent double payments and that each team member is sufficiently trained to cope with daily tasks.
* Oversee the submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
* Work closely with restaurants and shops, providing analysis and assistance where necessary.
* Ensure that all bank accounts are properly reconciled and that systems are in place for reconciling all Balance Sheet accounts.
* Act as the key point of contact for the Auditors and prepare all audit files.
* Responsible for the training and development of team members.
* Have procedures in place to ensure that lodgments and credit card receipts are checked against bank statements and investigate any discrepancies.
* Handle queries at the request of other members of the Finance Team.
* Be flexible in using other accounting systems and provide assistance to other areas of the business.
* Monitor the performance of the team and motivate them to ensure they are focused on their tasks weekly.
* Perform other ad hoc duties and projects that benefit the business.

* Responsible for managing a team of 7 people.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role required.
