Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Mott MacDonald. Location: Dublin or Cork. Relocation supported: Not supported, but internal applications are welcome. Responsibilities
* As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have responsibility to manage Client’s and Mott MacDonald obligations on various interesting clean and wastewater and environmental projects.
* As part of a Core Team within the Environment and Water Portfolio, you will work closely with the wider Advisory Project and Programme management teams to manage project deliverables to Client expectations.
* You will demonstrate a passion to work collaboratively with client teams to deliver complex projects to time, cost and quality with a commitment to safety.
* You will drive innovation of our service delivery and provide advice to the team and an integrated client.
* You will take ownership of and responsibility for the successful delivery of your projects, identify and monitor project risks and opportunities, manage stakeholders accounting for their influence and interests, and ensure good project governance.
Required Qualifications
* Quantity Surveying degree or other commercially related discipline or relevant extensive experience in Programme and Project commercial pre and post contract activities, including all activities associated with Cost Management
* Ideally Chartered MRICS or working towards chartered status (MRICS) and a commitment to CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
* Extensive experience in setting and implementing procurement strategies, developing and executing the procurement strategy including running tenders and advising on NEC contract conditions and amendments
* Demonstrable experience in Commercial and Cost standards and procedures, with highly developed commercial skills and ability to make sound decisions on financial matters
* Experience in commercial management and administration of contracts, including NEC contracts and using CEMAR or similar
* Contract and procurement advice, cost analysis, due diligence, cost control, forecasting and monitoring, cost reporting, and post-contract management on projects to ensure deliverability within funding and governance
* Experience in developing a Commercial and Cost Team with clear roles and accountabilities
* Building and managing strong client and stakeholder relationship skills and effective communications across project delivery, client, supply chain, and stakeholders
* Excellent IT, oral and written communication, organizational skills and analytical thinking
* Flexibility in work location, potential travel 2-3 times weekly depending on project
Preferred, But Not Required
* Experience in the water, environment and regulated industries
* Ability to operate autonomously and as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team providing commercial support
* Experience in using electronic measurement systems and other cost and contract management tools
