Chief Executive Officer – Discover Limerick DAC (Maternity leave fixed-term contract)
Location: Offices of Discover Limerick DAC, Cecil Street, Limerick, County Cork

Reporting to: Board of Directors, Discover Limerick DAC and Limerick City & County Council
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction of the company in line with the Company Strategy and Board guidance.
Provide decisive leadership to the senior management team and support staff.
Identify, shape and deliver future growth opportunities for the portfolio of visitor attractions.
Promote a culture focused on operational excellence, cost control and productivity.
Build, lead, maintain and motivate a high performing team through effective management, empowerment, clear accountability, open communication and staff development.
Monitor resource deployment to ensure optimal team outcomes.
Develop and maintain relationships with local, national and international tourism and industry colleagues.
Oversee all PR and media communications and work in partnership with key stakeholders including Failte Ireland.
Deliver a sustainable financial model, meet key objectives including visitor enjoyment, profitability, commercial sustainability, upgrading and maintenance of attractions.
Lead the application process for funding from public, private and philanthropic sources.
Devise and implement a promotional strategy for all visitor attractions operated by the company.
Lead on development of functional areas on each site, including full site upgrades, masterplan dissemination, building fit-outs and business model expansion.
Lead on programming and event development, appropriate to the sites, in line with innovation impact, always-on programming and education & engagement with new audiences.
Report to the Board on strategic and operational management, present bi-monthly detailed financial results and compare performance to budget.
Oversee effective governance controls, risk management, financial management and budgetary controls.
Ensure compliance with public procurement requirements, health and safety, and cost efficiency.
Ensure capital investments are undertaken on time and within budget and monitor monthly detailed financial results for each visitor site.
Liaise with and manage unit/service operator tenants for lease/contract obligations.
Candidate Profile
Proven track record as a leader and senior manager in a complex, commercially focused organisation.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, capacity to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
Experience managing significant teams and resources.
Current full-class B driver's licence and access to own car.
Citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Salary: Circa €100,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: 1 year contract
Annual Leave: 30 days per year
