We are seeking a head butcher for a soon to be top end Supermarket store located just outside Cork city.
This will be one of the top Supermarket stores in the country after a significant reinvestment near completion.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Butcher department, from maintaining exceptional hygiene standards to driving sales and increasing customer footfall. We are looking for a confident skilled butcher, who likes to make decisions, thrives on pressure and can lead a team to drive success in a dynamic fresh food environment.

Key Responsibilities for this Butcher Job:
* Prepare and cut various types of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to customer preferences and specifications.
* Ensure all meat products are of high quality, properly trimmed, and free from defects.
* Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Assist customers with their meat selections and provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes.
* Package and label meat products for display and sale
* Maintain knowledge of current market trends and adjust product offerings accordingly.
Requirements for this Butcher Job:
* Ideally a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Butcher in a retail or supermarket setting
* Good knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods, controlling yield and waste
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
* Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
* Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
* Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays but fair rotation of roster is in place
