About the role: The EDI Research & Projects Officer will work as part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Unit on the implementation of the RCSI EDI Strategy 2023 -2027. The EDI Research & Projects Officer will be responsible for the following tasks, in coordination with the Head of EDI: Management of Ending Sexual Violence, Supporting Survivors and Promoting Consent (ESP) Manage cross-disciplinary Committee of RCSI stakeholders Key coordinator of ESP Forum, including secretariat function Organise three ESP meetings per annum Coordinate and monitor implementation of ESP Action Plan including management of subgroups. Management of SpeakOut, RCSI's anonymous reporting tool, delivery of related institutional reporting to internal stakeholders; Responsible for the delivery of HEA statutory reports including Gender Equality HEI Progress and ESVH in HEIs; Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based data and insights to inform and support EDI activity specifically related to Athena Swan including the delivery and analysis of the biennial EDI survey; Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of EDI data with a longitudinal and intersectional lens as well as national and international benchmarking; Conceptualising, researching and developing new funding and thought leadership opportunities to support and promote the work of the EDI Unit; Developing and maintaining suites of EDI policies in line with legislative requirements and updates; Liaising and building relationships with key stakeholders including HEA, EDI practitioner and research networks nationally and at EU level; Support other meetings and activity for RCSI staff equality networks, specifically the Parents and Carers' and Intercultural Networks; Contribute to EDI training and awareness raising initiatives including orientation, induction and guest lectures; Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget; Deliver other related projects and ad hoc tasks as required. Key Requirements: Qualifications: Third level qualification in relevant discipline for example equality, law, education, humanities, or the social sciences. Knowledge & Experience (Essential): Experience in a similar role Interest in and/or understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Experience in use of Data Analysis tools e.g. using Excel, Power BI or equivalent. Ability to work with diverse and multifunctional teams Presentation/Facilitation skills Excellent management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Excellent time management & ability to prioritise tasks Meticulous attention to detail Ambitious self-starter with track record of completing projects on time and under budget Adaptable, creative and innovative Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Desirable skills required Knowledge of Higher Education Sector in Ireland Experience working in EDI Knowledge & Experience (Desirable): Knowledge and understanding of third level education nationally or internationally; Ability to contribute effectively to thinking on policy issues relating to equality, including knowledge of the nature and variety of these sectors in Ireland; Ability to present complex ideas and issues in an accessible style and form; Have a commitment to equality, diversity & inclusion.
