Role Profile
We have an opportunity within Tirlán for the position of Environmental Coordinator, based in Ballyragget. The role will report to the Site Utilities & Environmental Manager and will have responsibility across the Ballyragget site.
Key Responsibilities
* Enforce Industrial Emissions Licence and Greenhouse Gas permit on the Ballyragget site, ensuring compliance.
* Manage site environmental requirements and testing schedules to meet the conditions set out in the Industrial Emissions Licence.
* Prepare and submit environmental reports internally and externally, including Annual Environmental Report (AER), Environmental Performance Report (EPR), and annual GHG reporting such as Annual Emissions Monitoring (AEM) and Activity Level Change (ALC) reports to the EPA.
* Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with environmental legislation.
* Report and manage environmental metrics and KPIs, collaborating with plant teams to drive improvements and promote environmental policies to maximize performance.
* Analyze trends in environmental performance and lead initiatives for performance improvements.
* Collaborate with Operations to implement environmental procedures and requirements.
* Maintain environmental risk management documentation.
* Conduct internal environmental audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Promote an environmentally conscious culture and act as a role model for high environmental standards.
* Serve as the site’s environmental Subject Matter Expert during changes in plant processes, procedures, or projects.
* Support and coordinate environmental training and initiatives on-site.
* Implement business excellence methodologies in environmental work and investigations.
* Represent the site in environmental forums such as the Environmental Leadership Forum and IBEC.
* Adapt environmental standards and procedures in line with Tirlán’s Environmental & ESG strategy.
Key Requirements
* Third-level qualification in Science or Environmental studies.
* Good knowledge of standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
* Understanding of local and national environmental legislation.
* Effective communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Self-reliant with the ability to work independently.
