Job DescriptionThe Strategic Sourcing Manager will perform a combination of strategic sourcing, contract management, performance management, and relationship management functions for Avery Dennison's Global IT Sourcing and Vendor Management (ITSVM) team including but not limited to Hardware, Software, Cloud services and IT professional services as well as and primarily (but not limited to) services in EMEA and APAC.
You will be responsible for managing your assigned portfolio, the full lifecycle of all associated IT Services purchasing (from initial concept/planning and vendor selection to contract closeout and vendor off-boarding), and strategic projects.
You will also support the Vendor Management Office (VMO) objectives, enabling a consistent approach to implementing vendor management practices across the organization.
These practices include the establishment of roles, governance processes and standardized scorecarding of key vendors.
You will be known as a subject matter expert, a thought leader, and you will need to excel at building strong relationships with internal stakeholders as well as vendors.You will be leading a team of 2 specialists Primary Responsibilities:Strategizes, develops, and is accountable for managing assigned categories/projects, including sustained delivery of results that meet business needsBalances time between daily operation activities and strategic planning/projects, with work performed without appreciable directionContributes to the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organizationIdentifies and executes operational improvements for ITSVM and assigned categoriesPartners with Avery Dennison stakeholders globally and works cross-functionally and cross-regionally with operational teams and other key stakeholders globallyManages assigned portfolio and projects, engaging as the subject matter expert, providing consultation to key stakeholders, and identifying any portfolio optimization / consolidation opportunitiesManages communications with vendors, stakeholders, internal reviewers, and finance teams Creates and delivers high-value, Global IT sourcing strategies, including: market analysis/benchmarking, vendor evaluation/selection (e.g. RFx, due diligence, Q&A, scoring), cost forecasts, and negotiation strategy (including leveraging global capability and scale)Leads contract development, negotiates contracts, drafts commercial terms, manages contract approvals, and creates and/or approves order documentation (SOWs, POs, Requisitions, etc).
Facilitates post-execution contract management, including: maintaining the contract system of record, providing proactive renewal/obligation notifications, analyzing problem areas, and helping resolve disputesSupports the deployment of consistent vendor management processes, Responsible for providing administrative support, such as tracking, reporting, data entry, scheduling, and other tasks as needed to support the ITSVM team and Sourcing and Vendor Management lifecycle.
Provides guidance to less experienced team membersQualificationsBachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or technology; MBA or JD degree is preferredMinimum of 6 years' experience in global IT sourcing, vendor management, and strategic procurementProven expertise in supply chain management, category management, and strategic sourcingStrong knowledge of contract negotiation, drafting, and managementProficiency in sourcing, asset, and contract management tools and practicesExcellent project and process management skills, with the ability to handle multiple vendors and projects simultaneouslyOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver high-impact presentationsDemonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levelsIn-depth understanding of enterprise IT and indirect categories such as HR & Benefits, Finance, Legal, Risk, M&A, Tax, Communications, Treasury, and Contingent LabourAnalytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insightsStrong business acumen and understanding of international business practices and regulationsProven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through strategic sourcing initiativesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detailWillingness to travel as required (approximately 10% of the time)Additional InformationWho we are!
